9 Days Luxury Safari in Uganda

 

Day 1: transfer to the source of Nile

Pick up from the airport or hotel, thereafter drive to the East, to Jinja district, along the way you will have a lot of sights to see, and you will not be bored in any way since there is a lot to see. Have a stopover around Sezibwa Falls for a guided nature walk and cultural sighting seeing. Thereafter, head to Mabira forest where you will engage in a nature walk through the forest, here you will see a number of monkeys, different types of tree species, birds among others. Later, proceed to Jinja passing through different sugar and tea plantations. On reaching Jinja visit the Bujagali falls, later take a boat to the source of the Nile and also if time allows visit Samuka Island where you will have a great time viewing birds. In the evening check in at the hotel, have dinner and an overnight at wildwaters Lodge Jinja.

 

Day 2: Optional Bungee Jumping and air transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park.

On this day, wake up very early in the morning have the breakfast at the lodge and go for the optional Bungee jumping activities or a tour around Jinja town, from there your guide will lead to Jinja airfield for the flight to Kidepo valley national park. Upon arrive you will be led to the Karamojong village for the cultural dance, exhibition and charity. Dinner and overnight Apoka Safari lodge

 

Day 3: ostrich ride and sunrise carnivores game drive.

This morning you’ll wakeup and early to take an extensive game drive out into the northern sector of the national park. You’ll be heading over the seasonally dry Kidepo River bed towards the Kanangorok hot springs on the northern edge of the park close to the South Sudanese border. You’ll be accompanied by a Uganda Wildlife Authority range to help to search the savannah and scrub for a variety of wildlife but particularly for the flocks of ostriches found in the region. You’ll then head back to camp in the mid-afternoon for lunch and have sunset game drive to explore the Narus Valley. The sunset will provide excellent photo opportunities and usually plenty of animal activity and for this you will have to see lions, buffalos, elephants, various antelope species and a numbery of bird species both exotic and endemic. Day 4: Morning flight to Murchison falls and relaxation at the Hotel.

On this day there will be a scheduled flight to Murchison falls National Park, upon arrival your safari Guide will take you the lodge for relaxation. Murchison Falls National Park sits on the shore of Lake Albert, in northwest Uganda. It’s known for Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile River surges through a narrow gap over a massive drop. Park wildlife includes elephants and hippos, and Lake Albert Delta is home to rare shoebill storks. Dinner and overnight Paraa Safari lodge.

 

Day 5: Game Drive through the park and Boat Ride on the Victoria Nile

After your early morning breakfast, our driver guide together picks you up for the early game drive. Explore the major game trails especially around the area of Paraa for good game spotting including lots of Elephants, Lions, Giraffes, Antelopes, Jackals, Hyenas, and Uganda kobs, Waterbucks, Jackson's Hartebeests and hopefully the elusive Leopards among others.

Later on, you return back to the lodge for your lunch and some relaxation for an indefinitely short time. Later we set out for the afternoon Boat Ride on the Victoria Nile which is the high spot of any Murchison Falls Safari for you get to spot lots of animals at a close encounter. You will have to spot lots of hippos, Nile crocodiles, Elephants, Buffaloes, and many other animals that come to drink water, refresh and cool themselves off the scorching sun and some animals to eat the fresh grass along the river banks. Day 6: Air transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park.

This day you will go to Pakuba airstrip for a flight to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On arrival at kihihi airstrip your guide will pick and lead you the hotel for lunch and check, in the afternoon you will have a guided nature walk. Dinner and overnight Bwindi Lodge.

 

Day 7: Gorilla trekking day and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Breakfast; thereafter, depart for the gorilla trekking briefing point after confirming you have the following necessities; A packed lunch, a backpack with 02 liters of bottled drinking water, a rain jacket, hiking boots, extra warm clothing, Insect repellent, gloves, camera with charged batteries etc.This gorilla walk can take up to six hours, so a reasonable degree of fitness and a sturdy pair of walking shoes are required.

In the afternoon you will transfer to the stunning lake Bunyonyi for sightseeing and the lake is a ramsar site which is known for various bird species like White tailed blue monard, African Harrier Hawk, grey crowned cranes, Herons, egrets, the cardinal woodpecker, the levillant cuckoo, slender-billed baglafetch, weavers and many more. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Birdnest Resort.

 

Day 8: Explore Lake Bunyonyi (Community Tour and Boat Ride)

After breakfast, visit the distinctive Batwa and Abaheesi (black smiths) societies or to the Bukora Cave. Have lunch at the resort and enjoy the afternoon on a boat ride, canoeing or go for a cycling tour around the area. You also have the option of visiting and spend some time interacting with the Batwa (pygmies) community who inhabit parts of the forest and its surrounding areas. Birders will treat themselves with well over 300 bird species recorded. Like pied kingfishers, swallows among others. Alternative a full-day canoe trek on Bunyonyi will introduce you to the major islands and their rich history, but also to a traditional healer and a craft maker who live on a peninsula with most complete views of the 25-kilometres long lake. There will be some little energetic hiking but also great time spent in traditional dugout canoes. Dinner and overnight Bunyonyi Birdnest resort.

 

 

Day 9: transfer to Kigali international airport (KGL)

After breakfast, you will start a cross boarder’s journey to Kigali-rwanda, along the way we shall have lunch and continue with the journey to Kigali International airport for a flight back home.
