11 Days Kenya and Tanzania Safari

Kenya and Tanzania combined safari will let you explore the most famous parks in Kenya to witness the annual wildebeest migration crossing the Mara in Tanzania. Take a boat in Lake Naivasha for a birding picnic. In Tanzania, Ngorongoro Crater is said to have the world’s densest population of Lions! The Ngorongoro crater also offers amazing wildlife viewing and scenery as you witness. Visit east Africa’s largest national park known as Serengeti national park.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Samburu National reserve.

On your arrival in Nairobi, you will be met by our company staff who will brief you and then drive south along the Central Kenya Highlands.  After check in, you may go swimming or take an afternoon siesta. In the afternoon, we will set off for an evening game drive and return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, we will leave for a full morning game drive. We will drive through the wilderness and spot for leopards, hippos, elephants, lions, and giraffes among other wildlife. We will return to the lodge for lunch and spend some time relaxing in the lodge. In the afternoon, we will set off for an evening game drive and bask under the beautiful sunset before we return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 3: Lake Naivasha and transfer to Masai mara.

After breakfast, transfer to Lake Naivasha which  is a picnic and camping spot and a bird watcher’s paradise on a boat ride. During your safari, you will have a chance to visit Hell's Gate National Park which has over 100 species of birds including vultures, Verreaux's Eagles, augur buzzard, and swifts. You will have lunch at your hotel and in the afternoon go for game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge

 

Day 4: Masai Mara hot air balloon safari

Drive very early morning to the briefing point  and be ready to get a bird eye’s view of the Mara and go Hot Air Ballooning, it is great fun.  Spend about one hour silently floating over the savannah in a hot air balloon and it will fill you with enough memories to last a lifetime. You take off in the wee hours of the morning, float in the sky, drifting with the whim of the wind, overlooking the plains, just in time to experience a breathtaking sunrise and catch a bird’s eye view of the reserve. After the flight, you will be treated to a luxurious breakfast to complete the experience as you relax and absorb the moment Remember to take a hat to protect your head from the heat of the gas burners. After lunch you will have another amazing game drive in the national park. Dinner and overnight at Aa Lodge Mara

 

Day 5: Masai Mara full day game drives

Spend the day in Masai Mara, Kenya's most popular game reserve where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five - lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant, Game drives are flexible, with the option of going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend entire day in the park, or you can choose to have early morning and late afternoon game drives with lunch at the lodge/camp. Dinner and overnight at Aa Lodge Mara.

 

Day 6: Transfer to Serengeti National park-Evening game drive.

After breakfast, embark on a short cross border road trip from Masai mara region of Kenya to that of Tanzania where you will have chances of witnessing the hartebeests migrating! Check in at the accommodation in the afternoon for relaxation and lunch. You will have an afternoon game drive in East Africa’s largest national park with diverse wildlife including the great migration. Dinner and overnight at Lobo Wildlife Lodge/Equivalent

 

Day 7: Full day Serengeti

Breakfast at around 0800 Am. Proceed with morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti with a lunch and leisure break at the lodge in the mid afternoon. In the central plains there are carnivores like Leopard, Lion, Hyena and Cheetah. This park is normally the scene of the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra that occurs between the Kenyan Mara and the Serengeti. Varied bird species can be seen here including eagles, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, herons, kites, pelicans, cranes and guinea fowl. The Serengeti National park is a arguably the best known wildlife sanctuary in the world with over 3 million large mammals. About 35 species of plains animals can be seen including the “big 5” - Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Dinner and overnight at Lobo wildlife Lodge/Equivalent.

Day 8: Central Serenget-Best known for annual migration viewing

Central Serengeti’s Seronera Valley is a year-round game-viewing mecca with impressive populations of predators which remain even after the spectacular flock of blue wildebeests and zebras have gone. There are several species of hyrax, diminutive cousin of the elephants, hares, elephant shrew and other rodents, many of them red-listed as threatened species, hundreds of bright reptiles and amphibians, and birds in an astonishing variety from gigantic puffed up bustards to the jewel-like sun birds. The endless variety of landscape explains the diversity of wildlife to be seen during a Serengeti Central Safari with AfricanMecca. Day 9: Transfer from central Serengeti to Ngorongoro

After breakfast, embark on a road trip to the Ngorongoro crater area with transit duration of at most 4 hours. Check in at the lodge for lunch and later Drive to Ngorongoro Crater for half-day game drive in the crater. Afternoon, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge/Equivalent.

 

 

Day 10: Transfer from Ngorongoro to Arusha (Transfer takes 3-4 hours)

Have breakfast and later drive to Arusha with calculated stopovers en route for wildlife views and landscapes. Check in for relaxation and lunch at your lodge.  You can have an evening city tour or just relax this evening away. Dinner and overnight at Natron Palace Hotel Arusha/Equivalent

Day 11: Arusha to Nairobi with a stopover at Giraffe centre.

After breakfast, embark on an exciting road trip back home, en route lunch with a stopover at Nairobi giraffe centre. Later transfer to the airport to catch your flight
